Stash growth

  • Dec. 29th, 2006 at 10:23 AM

My stash grew again! I got my order from Lekker Threads (this is actually second parcel, first parcel got lost (it's second time, from that direction, in two-or-so months... there's something in wrong with Royal Mail, I think)) and DMC's Houses & Gardens book(let) from my A-A-S kid Sabine.

That is not all, I did order one chart too, but as it'll go to my Valentine's Exchange pal I won't show it.
But, I am very happy with Indian Dreams and I think I may end up getting other designs by The Cat's Whiskers too (it's in the name, I think). (And I did got some needles too... just forgot them while taking the picture.)

Adopt-A-Stitcher done!

Now it's official: Sabine has (happily) received my fourth parcel, and I've fulfilled my commitment in this long, long exchange.

Coffee and biscuits Champagne to everyone! This is my thousand (!) entry!

Happy dance

Now, yesterday (Sunday) I foresaw two happy dances for Monday, but as I ended up sleeping, chatting and popping by at N's to have a dinner (N. cooked it, I ate it. Equality, don't you think?) my only happy dance was delayed to these early hours of Tuesday, but... The Greatest Treasure is now officially finished!

Walk Like An Egyptian

No, I haven't gone completely bonkers. I got mail from my Adopt-A-Stitcher mommy, Christine! Wonderful mail, as she sent me Teresa Wentzler's Egyptian Sampler (which was in my wish list), and 28 count ivory Jubilee to stitch it on!

She did have an ulterior motive though... it seems that we may have Egyptian Sampler SAL in coming year.
Off I go to kit it! (Though I need to order some beads and Kreinik's #4 braid. *gasp* I have to buy more stash! *gasp*)

No time to stop

  • Oct. 22nd, 2006 at 1:19 AM

Just got to my mother's place from a skirts only party and [info]bits_2_whole and I should be around noon at our father's place celebrating his 60th birthday.

I have been worrying over Sabine, and the parcel I sent, and today I heard that my parcel has arrived, but I also found out that she has sorrow in her life and I feel quite sad for her.
And I feel a bit indifferent because I worried over little parcel when she has had much bigger things to cope with.

Don't know what to say... off to stitch a bit (I got first angels with me) and then to bed.

Here be dragons

  • Sep. 26th, 2006 at 2:14 AM

As said MW will have to give its day to TGT because TGT has a deadline. And even design changed Monday seems to be day of Dragon Dreams.

Baby dragon had an arm when I begun to stitch this today and here's how it looks like now (I've had busy night because we had/have problems with one forum user... ended up being banned, and I'd really love to see that report of an offence she promised to make (there's no base for it, just one's paranoid illusions)):

I've to say that I'm quite happy with my conversion from greens to purples. (Angela, I can hear you drooling. )

In other news

CCLE is mailed, as is one leaflet from my unwanted list. It'll immigrate to live with Cindy as she is/was in dire need of Christmas ornament designs and as I want to give loving homes to stash I don't want to live with...
And Sabine should get something from me in one of these days. (I really love to make those parcels, even my finances limit them quite a bit, but IMO I can still make it quite well.)

And my chilis really could use some therapy. It's end of September and they look like this:

Christine has perfect timing! (Noticing that her parcel arrived just day before I get on the jet plane.)
When I went to check my mail box today I saw this little parcel under pile of advertisements (note to self: 'No ads' note to mailbox before tomorrow)... it was from Christine, who's my Adopt-A-Stitcher 'mother'.

First of all she seems to know my taste when it comes to art (but what doesn't mother know?). She sent me this gorgeous bookmark (picture is not gorgeous, unfortunately - pop to have a cup of coffee with Christine, and see better picture) inspired by Gustav Klimt's 'The Kiss':

And floss, as you notice. L3013 and L779 from DMC linen floss series, E135 from Jewel Effects and E3685 from Antique Effects.
Now I just need new WIPs. *grin*

And... being helpful mother she sent me address book to keep track of my stitching friends, and a journal - for which I actually found use when I saw it. It's made for RR log. Now I just need to participate to my first RR.

SBQ; Books

Today's

Stitching Bloggers Question

was suggested by Angela and is:
"How many cross stitch books do you own and how often do you use them?"
Hmm, I've to consult my pattern stash inventory.

[Moment passes...]

Eight cross stitch books, two others with cross stitch and/or needlepoint designs.
I haven't used them very much, but I'd say that I find something suitable from books more often than magazines.
And then I haven't stitched actively that long anyway.

Stash!

This is me at the moment ->

I've to say that even I knew what I'll get from SB&B opening that parcel was still moment of excessive drooling... Just to repeat myself, this is what I got from Christine (who's my Adopt-A-Stitcher 'mommy'):

Caron Collection Wildflowers; 0021 Peach Melba

Caron Collection Soie Cristale; 2001 Cherry
Crescent Colours; Apple Fritter
Dragon Floss Saying it with Thread; Love & Laughter (Dedicated to someone, maybe? )
In addition to those lovely, lovely flosses I got Berry Power chart by Full Circle Designs. ^^

Headless wizard and oddities of brains

  • May. 26th, 2006 at 9:41 AM

It's dark and grey outside (read: it rains) so following picture isn't best one ever, but it shows my progress.

You may notice that table and chair are stitched with overdyed - and if you left it unnoticed, now you know.

I also heard few days back that my 'kid' Sabine (Adopt-A-Stitcher adoptée) received her parcel - just in time to cheer her up after a cold. My timing is impeccable (as 'certain someone' has told me), it seems.

Brainsss....

Last month I had problems because my brains adjusted to live in Thailand time (GMT+7) and now... Wolfie is in Singapore few days and my brains tweaked their time settings. Therefore my body lives in GMT+3 and mind lives in GMT+8.

Angela, actually he hasn't stole me from you guys, I've just been suffering from asociality attack (you may have noticed that I haven't been around in forums/ blogs that much either). Wolfie has been about only person I've been in contact with.
Though, I may be much more social in Sunday. I've been invited (it seems to me that [info]bits_2_whole may be coming too) to spend an evening with, well, friends in Saturday and if I enjoy my time as much I enjoyed in those house warmings...

Moment of drooling

  • Apr. 4th, 2006 at 8:59 PM

Let me introduce you, stash Christine gave

  1. Caron Collection Wildflowers; 0021 Peach Melba
  2. Caron Collection Soie Cristale; 2001 Cherry
  3. Crescent Colours; Apple Fritter
  4. Dragon Floss Saying it with Thread; Love & Laughter
Rest of it went to international mailing. *sigh* But stash is stash, no matter what.

No Saliant today even I wished to be able to work with it... well. It happens even in the best of the families, and with smaller amounts of painkillers.

Pink cloud just got bigger!

  • Apr. 4th, 2006 at 7:33 PM

I just got mail from Stitching Bits and Bobs that Christine, who is my Adopt-A-Stitcher 'mommy' has bought me $20 gift certificate!

I see a shopping spree in coming minutes!

This has really been good email day!

/me is happy, happy, happy!

Smoking needles; Romance in Bloom

  • Feb. 11th, 2006 at 10:36 PM

    (Created with Acme Labelmaker)

For starters Stitching Olympics Gazette; Issue II . (Note: we already have some medals!)

When it comes to my performance today... regardless of lurking migraine attack (which was taken care of without doping (even we don't have urine tests, I hope) with help of some rice cakes and litres of coffee) I've been stitching like mad for my medals. It has been good day for needlebook stitching and even I had TDFA (The Dreaded Frog Attack) yesterday it was only for some tens of stitches and we're strongly back in business and Romance in Bloom is coming out nicely (In fact I've certain plans considering this design). Here's first part (back page) of it:

      This needlebook

      • is limited time only freebie by Kristine Herber (It'll come on sale later as part of a chart pack)
      • stitched on 28 count Deep Teal Green Jazlyn (by Zweigart)
      • two over two, with two strands (of DMC)

Edit 23:06:

I just heard that my Adopt-A-Stitcher adoptée Sabine received her Valentine's parcel.
Ah, I just love giving gifts. I think that in some sense it feels better to send surprise parcels than receive them (even I love receiving too).

Name and other things

  • Dec. 30th, 2005 at 2:09 AM

I'm getting used being called Oda so I really have to change my name - and to be honest I'll change it when ever I can spend 40 euros to get a new passport (again).

Adopt-A-Stitcher and Valentine Exchange

I got my adopteés name and I'll be sending little parcels to Germany during year 2006, (and receiving them from Canada) though I'll concentrate on her after I finish my Valentine Exchange item... which I can't even begin before I get better.
But I'm thinking to begin stitching it in beginning of January, as I want to get it finished before Silhouettes SAL begins at EMS BB... then I also should finish my Winter topiary before it.

Graah! Well, I've time in my hands so...

Slightly nutty.

Very happy. Moderately odd. Bibliophile, Demoness, geekette, cross stitch designer (part-time), common-law wife surfing in an intercultural, -religious, -ethnic etc. relationship, retail slave (full-time), HSP etc.

An Angel.

Welcome to prove my evergrowing insanity.
